Cross Team Sharing - using Calisphere resources
These are some ideas to get you thinking about the informal sharing with other Calisphere teams.
Use this wiki space to jot down notes for each team member.
Use the questions as a guideline and be prepared to BRIEFLY share your answers to one or two questions ONLY (time limit of 3 minutes)
- What did you explore or experiment with?
- How did it work?
- What is something cool you found on your own?
- What were the challenges you encountered?
- What is something you still want to do?
- What advice do you have for others...
Since session one, our fourth graders were working on a report on California missions. We used calisphere images to supplement their reports. Because we were in the computer lab, we showed the students how to use the calisphere homepage. They typed the name of their mission into the search box.
I'm looking ahead to using images from the Gold Rush era--especially those from the environmental impact section. I'm hoping as a class to discuss the positive and negative effects of the gold rush on the Bay area. Most 4th graders find the idea of finding gold exciting, but they haven't considered the side effects.
