Cross Team Sharing - using Calisphere resources
These are some ideas to get you thinking about the informal sharing with other Calisphere teams.
Use this wiki space to jot down notes for each team member.
Use the questions as a guideline and be prepared to BRIEFLY share your answers to one or two questions ONLY (time limit of 3 minutes)

- I experimented with creating two new folders of Calisphere primary resources. I put pictures of missions and the Civil War onto the iPod by drag and drop then renaming the file.
- Once I knew how to capture and rename the images, the creation of new image folders went smoothly.
- I found out how to recreate the original folders with images which led to creation of new image folders.
- The original challenge was that when I downloaded (or uploaded) my music to the iPod. I lost all the images. Even though I recreated the image folders with images, not all the images uploaded to the iPod. After a visit to the Apple Store, I was shown a better way to create the image files and that they all have to be saved in .jpg format.
- I want to figure out how to upload the movie we made today without wiping out all the other files on the iPod. Even though I did the movie today, I have to go over the steps again to redo the movie because the sound is not audible. We tallked right into the snowball, so I am confused why. I want to re-record first. i also want to do a search in Calisphere for Angel Island and Camp Reynolds to find out if I can find more Civil War resources. I am going to work with two 8th grade Social Studies teachers. I would like to show them the Calisphere site via the iPod, the images on the iPod, present the 6 C's and have them do their own postcards from the past using Civil War images. I might have to have them also access American Memory. To access the net with the iPod, I have to learn how to set up a laptop as a wifi connection/hub.
- Since I feel like I am still learning feel like a novice, I advise everyone to keep experimenting, learning, and sharing.

- What did you explore or experiment with?
- How did it work?
- What is something cool you found on your own?
- What were the challenges you encountered?
- What is something you still want to do?
- What advice do you have for others...

- I experimented with the topic of Juvenile Justice and Death Penalty because of a student killing. The focus this week was Teen Tech Week.
- I put a slide show on the iPod using Google images. I collaborated with a teacher to do this lesson and project with a small group of students.

District Team Sharing - This is our Game Plan!
- The topics we will cover when we share with others will vary since each of us is a librarian for a different level. (elementary, middle, high)
- Our intended audiences are our entire school population at our various schools in San Francisco Unified. We will each start with one teacher and class and hope to build on this success to expand to other teachers and classes.
- Strategies to work together = Collaboration! This is one of the primary functions of Teacher Librariians.
- Possible Challenges: To work with that first teacher and disseminate and expand to other curriculums and teachers.
- When do you want this to happen? We want to start this spring semester and do something in the next 2 months left of the school year.
- Action Items for this team- begin the process with the first teacher after planning what and how to do the lesson.
