Cross Team Sharing - using Calisphere resources

These are some ideas to get you thinking about the informal sharing with other Calisphere teams.

Use this wiki space to jot down notes for each team member.

Use the questions as a guideline and be prepared to BRIEFLY share your answers to one or two questions ONLY  (time limit of 3 minutes)

1.  What did you explore or experiment with?

Arranged to meet with 4th grade teacher to share Calisphere.

Mused about iPod use for classrooms without LCD--will it connect to TV?

Planning to integrate Calisphere with "Picturing America" grant, in terms of analysis and historical context.

Possibly use Calisphere and iPod for Immigration unit, 8th grade history.

Primary sources questions with LOC images.  Used iPod for ambient music, related to the curriculum.

Tried to download free audiobooks from public library.  Failed.

Tried to copy homemade video to iPod.  Failed.

Copied music and photos to iPod.  Want to see my kids?

2.  How did it work?

Frustrated by limitations of format that can be downloaded to iPod and the tendency to erase when syncing.

Coordinating between sites is difficult.

3.  What is something cool you found on your own?

Realized possible applications of music related to history.

Liked being able to organize a library of songs.

  1. What were the challenges you encountered?
  2. What is something you still want to do?
  3. What advice do you have for others...

District Team Sharing - This is our Game Plan!

  • Topics we will cover when we share with others

With Humanities teachers at our site: Calisphere (they know but could use reminders), analysis of primary sources, HOT Lessons

  • Who is your intended/desired audience - grade level. school, district

Becca will talk with 4th grade teachers and elementary library staff, at district-wide with HS librarians, principals

  • Strategies to work together = Collaboration!

Possibly go beyond the district to CSLA....

  • Possible Challenges
  • When do you want this to happen?

CSLA in fall, site staff at next department meeting, district-wide during district-wide trainings next fall

  • Action Items for this team

Make a schedule...
